Norfolk Foods is the brainchild of Mohamed Ziauddin, a British trained Food Specialist who invested his expertise and experience into the business around 20 years ago. Under his supervision, leading chefs and food technologists keep constantly innovating and developing specialty food for discerning clients.

Our Team

  • Mohamed Ziauddin - Managing Director

    The Founder & Managing Director of Norfolk Foods (Pvt) Ltd has 36 years of food industry experience, of which 17 years in the UK, with Unilever and Bernard Matthews with 28 years of holding board positions, which includes 8 years in the UK.

    Before founding Norfolk Foods in 1992, Ziauddin was the Development Director at Bernard Matthews Plc., the largest integrated poultry further processor in Europe. He was the first appointment in R & D in 1978 and was responsible for research and development of new products & processes, production technology and the direction of projects from concept to commercial launch.

    He holds a M.Sc. in Technological Economics, from the University of Sterling UK, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from the Luton Management Centre UK and a Higher National Diploma in Food Technology from South Bank Polytechnic, UK. Ziauddin is an Associate Member, British Institute of Management; Associate of Institute of Food Science Technology, UK; and a Member of the Royal Society of Health, UK. He also holds five International Patents on inventions relating to food processing technology.

  • Mrs. Zari Ziauddin - Technical Director

    The founding and Technical Director is a microbiologist by profession and has over 30 years of experience in the food and related industries. Starting her career in London at the Unilever Walls Meat Company, she became the head of Quality Control and Hygiene before joining the Public Health Services in their microbiology department.

  • Mr. Eksith Kurukulasooriya - Chief Financial Officer

    Mr. Kurukulasooriya has over 15 years in the financial field. Before joining Norfolk Foods in 2014, Mr. Kurukulasooriya gained his experience at Richard Pieris & Co PLC, Singer Industries (Ceylon) PLC, International Distillers Limited and KPMG. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management.

  • Mr. Kapila Ekanayake - Operations Manager

    Mr. Ekanayake has over 21 years’ experience in the food industry. Joining Norfolk Foods at its inception Mr. Ekanayake has a B.Sc. from University of Peradeniya and a M.Sc. in Food Science & Technology from University of Sri Jayawardanapure.

  • Mr. Pramith Sampath - Sales Manager

    Mr Pramith has over 20 years experience in the meat industry. He has brought with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in the handling of the HORECA and retail sector.

  • Ms. Ameena Mohamed - Development Manager

    Ms. Mohamed is a graduate from the University of Nottingham with a B.Eng. in Manufacturing Engineering and Management and a M.Sc. in Food Production Management. She is also a Windsor Fellow completing the Leadership Program for Undergraduates conducted by the Windsor Fellowship. Ms. Mohamed heads the development department in new product development and improvement, as well as business development.
